Privacy Policy
Updated October 4, 2026
This policy describes information handled by the current Lighthouse Virtual Empire website.
Information collected
LVE stores account identifiers, email addresses, display names, profile details, event requests and memberships, vendor approvals, posts, attachments, comments, likes, messages, blocks, reports, and moderation records. It records account join and last-seen times, daily participation for streaks and badges, selected badge displays, interests, feed feedback, and post-view records. Hosting and service providers may also process technical request information, such as IP addresses, browser details, and security logs.
How information is used
Information supports sign-in, profile switching, events, messaging, personalized feeds, engagement statistics, badges and streaks, support, fraud prevention, and moderation. Likes, comments, event participation, selected interests, and feedback help personalize feeds. Owners/admins receive report email alerts; those alerts may include a report’s category, reason, priority, and reference number.
Following and Discover
Following uses the accounts and events you follow or join. Discover uses selected categories and hashtags, public post engagement, followed business categories, optional general location, recency, and recommendation feedback. LVE stores follows, hidden-post and muted-account choices, and daily feed activity with a hashed account viewer key and Following or Discover source. Reports, staff notes, investigations, and private message contents are not used for recommendation targeting. Businesses are not given identifiable viewer lists. You may clear your selected area, change interests, unfollow, unhide, or unmute in Feed preferences.
Who can see content
Profiles, selected badges, streaks, public posts, and public event content can be viewed publicly. Approved members and authorized roles can access private event content. Conversation participants can see their direct messages. Owners/admins can review all conversations and reports for moderation and can investigate archived event posts and comments. Event managers and co-managers can moderate their groups. Private messaging does not mean messages are inaccessible to site moderation.
Age verification
AgeVerif processes verification using its own service and privacy practices. LVE stores the account’s verification result, threshold, verification time, and expiry, along with temporary request information needed to complete verification. The LVE integration does not store identity-document images. Owners/admins can see whether verification is current or expired.
Service providers
Supabase supports email authentication. AgeVerif supports age verification. Resend sends configured email alerts. OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare support hosting, database, attachment storage, and runtime operations. Existing ChatGPT-linked accounts may still use that sign-in path during the transition to email accounts. Providers process information needed for their services under their own terms and privacy practices. LVE may share relevant records when needed to respond to lawful requests or protect users and the service.
Provider policies: Supabase, Resend, AgeVerif, OpenAI, and Cloudflare.
Cookies and device storage
Sign-in uses cookies. Local browser storage remembers the selected feed and profile, while temporary session storage remembers feed continuation references and scroll position and supplies a random guest identifier for post-view counting. A qualifying view is recorded when enough of a post remains visible for about two seconds; view records help avoid repeated counts for the same viewer and post on the same day. Clearing browser storage removes device preferences and may sign you out, but does not delete account data.
Retention and event archives
Account and content records remain stored while needed to provide the service. Resetting an event hides and archives its posts and comments rather than deleting them; members remain in the group and vendor approval resets for the next cycle. Moderation records, messages, reports, and archives may be retained for safety, disputes, and legal requirements. LVE does not currently provide an automatic retention or deletion schedule. Account deletion and data requests are handled through support, with any necessary retention explained during review.
Your choices and requests
Edit profile information in your profile controls, change feed interests and feedback, choose which earned badges are displayed, or use available blocking controls. The owner cannot be blocked. Email support@lighthousevirtualempire.com to request access, correction, deletion, or account closure. We may need to verify ownership before responding. Available rights depend on applicable law. Do not email passwords, API keys, or identity documents.
Age and security
Accounts are intended for adults aged 18 and older. Public content can be browsed without an account. Contact support if you believe an underage person has created an account. LVE uses access controls, sign-in checks, and encrypted storage for integration secrets. No online service can guarantee complete security. Direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted.
Updates
This policy will be updated as features and providers change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be communicated through a site notice. Contact support with privacy questions.
Business displays, search and saved items
Business descriptions, categories, city, county, state, service areas, uploaded media, offering details and member recommendations are public. Do not enter home addresses or private contact information in public fields. Saved items belong to your main account and are shared across linked roles.
LVE does not process vendor sales. External purchases, payments, shipping, refunds and customer service are handled directly by the vendor. Vendor ordering links show a notice before you leave LVE and can be reported.
Search appearances, profile/result opens, saves, follows, message starts and vendor-link clicks use the same hashed, daily-deduplicated activity records as the feeds. Private messages, reports and investigations are not search-ranking signals.
